Lake Gaston
Bass are now moving out deep on Lake Gaston. The manlike on the lower end is full of spotted bass. Some nice sized spots can be taken on finesse worms. Deep diving crank baits will get you some bites on these hot days. The grass is really good right now, if you find the right patch you can fill a limit quickly. Rattle-traps have won some tournaments on Gaston this year, the chrome blue back is the color right now. Spinnerbaits are still taking nice bass. The best color right now is white double willow in silver blades. Ned rigs are coming on strong right now for the spotted bass, green pumpkin and shad colors are the best. Fishing behind the dam is always productive, there are allot of rocks and deeper water that holds fish all year round!
